Most habits and feelings run automatically. They occur without thought, however, there are triggers that can set off certain thoughts, feelings, behaviours and habits in the brain causing an immediate shift in mood or thoughts.
Everything in life people, situations, experiences are neutral. It’s the emotions and meanings that we attach to them that give you “your experience “. If you have had a “bad” experience your mind won’t want you to go back there so it will work hard at moving you away from pain. You may avoid things or use things to cover up the pain such as eating, drinking, gambling and stealing certain things.
These “triggers” become unconscious habits. You may have tried to change them in the past with will power and not necessarily succeeded. Does that leave you feeling that you are “stuck” with that feeling, that is just the way you are and nothing is going to change it? You live in a state of fear, worry, anxiety, phobia, addiction, procrastination, believing it’s because you are not good enough and should work harder or maybe give up feeling unconfident.
But, if you can change the habit in the brain, in the unconscious mind, the changes can happen quickly and easily no matter how long you have had them.
Over the years you build up beliefs and stories in your mind that feel very true and give you your life. Some good some not so good. You keep trying but end up back in the same place.
It’s not the outside world or because you are too old, fat, stupid, unlucky and not confident.
